From my prediction yesterday, I thought it would rain more during the evening than it did. We got slight rain around 7 and 8, but I had predicted rain starting around 3 in the afternoon. We got .12 inches of precipitation over the course of the evening. It was clear skies in the early morning and then partly cloudy through the rest of the day. From the surface map and forecast below you can see that we are in the rain and T storms portion (orange marked lines around most of Plains and Midwest) of the map and a cold front and low pressure system approaching from the North. three were cumulus and cumulus congestus clouds most of the day This leads to my prediction that we will see that there will be more rain in the future from lake effect. We will also see it starting to lower in temperature from the warm weather we have had lately.

My prediction from yesterday that it would be about the same day in terms of no precipitation and clear skies was correct because of still being under the high pressure system dome.Today was a fairly normal day with no fronts coming into the area as you can see from the surface map below. There was 0 inches of precipitation and clear skies all day long with just some scattered clouds in the late afternoon. There is a cold front approaching from the north being a continental polar cold front, so I predict that in the next couple of days we will see some colder weather and may even get some showers.

My prediction from Friday that there will be a some slight rain for the weekend was partially true on Saturday as there was a significant amount of rain that night, but the cold front moved through relatively quickly and there was no precipitation today. It turned out to be a hot/humid day for the Eau Claire Marathon. The skies were clear all day and it was beautiful as I saw a lot of people getting outside and enjoying the weather. Based off of the surface map below I think we will see nice weather for tomorrow as we are under a high pressure system with no fronts near the Northern Wisconsin area.

My prediction from yesterday was correct that there was no real precipitation and that the continental polar cold front hasn't hit us yet. It was a nice day today with only some trace amount of precipitation in the very early morning left over from last night. It was partly cloudy in the morning, but it cleared up into the afternoon and evening. A pretty boring day weather wise, but my prediction for the weekend is that there will be a good bit of rain coming our way as the continental polar cold front moves over the Great Lakes. It should move past relatively quickly and clear up into Sunday.

My forecast from yesterday that we would have a fairly calm day with no real precipitation was correct. There was some slight rain as we are on the edge of the orange rain and thunderstorms portion of the forecast chart below. We got .03 inches of light rain in the late evening to be more specific. It was clear skies in the morning and partly cloudy with cumulus clouds for the rest of the day.I predict for Friday the 4th that there will be no precipitation as it looks like we will be moving out of the orange rain and thunderstorms are shown in the surface map below. There is an approaching low pressure system that looks like it might hit us this weekend though and probably bring some rain with it.

My prediction from Tuesday was that there would be no precipitation and the cold front would have moved past overnight. From the surface map you can see that we are still in the cold front and low pressure system. This has led to .18 inches of precipitation in the morning. The front moved out and the skies cleared up in the afternoon to evening. My prediction for tomorrow is that there will be sunny skies with no precipitation.

Happy First Day of May!

My forecast from yesterday wasn't that accurate as the low front didn't hit Eau Claire as fast as I thought it was. I was correct that the stationary front turned into a cold front, but again it didn't make it here today. Today we only saw .07 inches of precipitation and was partly cloudy randomly throughout the day. As you can see from the radar below most of the rain hit in the La Crosse area just barely going through Eau Claire. This also matches with the yellow circle in the middle of the country meaning severe thunderstorms. My prediction for tomorrow is that the upcoming low pressure system and cold front will move in and be gone before tomorrow and that there will be no real precipitation. There might be some into the midnight, but little to none.
